Our roots
Memories, traditions, senses, inspirations and happiness - these make us who we are. Inherited from generations before us, a love for flowers and nature resides within.
In 1972, Jazeps Skraba and his love for flowers grew his passion into a premium horticultural business. Later passed down to his daughter Aina, the roots of his passion has spread into more areas of our lives than could ever have been imagined.
Steeping flowers
Inherited by Aina, the business continued to grow, adding her personality whilst slowly branching out via the medium of tea.
Walking into Aina's kitchen, greeted by jars upon jars of dried flowers ready to be steeped, is a fond memory that has forever implanted itself. Knowing the best recipe to remedy any ailment - physical, psychological or mood-based is a true skill.
Family affair
Fast forward a few years, Aina's niece (my dear sister Aija), became inspired one Christmas to make a new candle from the tail ends of many old ones.
Marrying a love for candles and an ethical, sustainable approach to life, this was a pivotal point in beginning the journey towards building what is now, BURDALUX.
Clipper partnership
Combining our love for tea with our ethical passion for nature, encompassed our tea inspired blends.
Pairing our candles with the perfect complimenting cuppa was no mean feat. Our chosen tea had to be plastic-free and fair trade, mirroring our values. Believing that every cup counts, Clipper's relentless quest for quality and attention to detail meant they were our perfect partner.
Meet Dace
Granddaughter of Jazeps, niece of Aina and sister to Aija, our passionate creator combines her love for flowers and tea with her vast design knowledge.
Pursuing her dream to bring joy to your everyday with our eco-luxury home experiences. Encapsulating all senses; smell with our tea inspired candle blends, taste with our perfect Clipper pairing, touch with our vast use of eco-friendly textures, sight with our consciously crafted designs and sound with our beautifully curated playlists, it's her privilege to invite you to take a moment to experience a little joy.
