Candle care
Caring for your candle will prolong its life
CHECK OUT OUR how to guide below
Igniting
When burning our candles, allow the wax to fully melt all the way to the edge of the glass. This ensures an even burn throughout the candle and will avoid tunnelling. This is where only part of the wax melts, creating a shorter burn life. We recommend you burn our candles for a minimum of two and a maximum of four hours.
Trimming
Before each burn, it's essential you remove any unnecessary wick. Trimming the wick to approximately 5mm ensures the candle doesn't give off any nasty black smoke. This is easy with scissors or by pinching the burnt wick with your fingers. Alternatively, our wick trimmers can be found here.
When lighting your candle, ensure there are no wick trimmings or used matches in the wax. Always burn your candle on an even and fire resistant surface. Preferably using our cork lid for extra heat protection as a coaster. Ensure that it's away from flammable items and out of the reach of children and pets.
Snuffing
Remember, when extinguishing the candle the glass will be hot so please be careful. Never extinguish with water as it may cause hot wax to splatter and potentially break the glass. Instead, blow out your candle cutting off the oxygen supply.
Alternatively, our candle snuffers can be found here.
Caution
Extinguish our candle if it repeatedly smokes, flickers or if the flame becomes too high. If this occurs, our candle isn't burning properly. Let it cool, trim the wick and then check for drafts before relighting. When the wax has melted down to 10mm, please discontinue use. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
